In short, tablets are electronic devices with a slim look. It’s specially designed for people with some specific needs. Wide Variety of Choices

The tablet industry is much small when it’s compared to that of mobile handsets and personal computers. However, a lot of models are still available to choose from. These tablets are highly sophisticated devices with the ability to perform complex tasks like a computer. Just like desktops and laptops, tablets also need an Operating System (OS) to run with. There are various operating systems for Tablets. One such popular and free Operating System is Android, which was developed by Google. There are many companies which are well established in this industry. Here are some of them – Samsung, Acer, Toshiba, HTC, Motorola etc. Each company is developing a new tablet frequently, and thus the competition between the manufacturers is becoming more intense. This is going to help the users, who will benefit the huge amount of choices available for them to choose from.

A tablet’s size can range from 6 inches to 8 inches. The thickness is always very less. As it is very thin, it’s easier for you to carry it around. Every tablet can easily fit in your pocket and you can comfortably use them when needed. You will not need any extra devices for the functioning of your tablet. All the required accessories are built-in. You can use the tablet with the virtual mouse and keypad. The screen is touch sensitive – it acts according to the movements you make with your hands. The screen area is much larger when compared to that of a normal mobile phone’s. This really helps in reading, writing, photo-viewing etc. On a tablet, you can read PDFs and other documents without having to strain your eyes. A size between 6 and 8 inches is considered ideal, because it’s the best size in which reading and carrying becomes easiest.

As I told before, the competition between various tablet manufacturers is really high. Thus, each company is trying to be more unique in providing the services and facilities to users. For a basic understanding, let’s have a look at some tablets with some unique features:

XOOM tablet from Motorola is equipped with 1 GHz Dual Core Processor and is having two cameras. A very popular tablet from Samsung, The Galaxy Tab is a big tablet with 25.6 TFT LCD Screen with touch sensitivity. And it works on a 1 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 Processor. ASUS TF101 Transformer is another new entry to the market with a unique Cloud Computing Technology. The touch screen technology expert – HTC has also launched their Tablet Flyer with Android Gingerbread OS 2.3.

Things to Consider

From the above example, I hope you understand what it means by unique features. You should ask the following questions to yourself before buying a tablet:

 What features do you need?

 What is your budget?

 What is your purpose?

Once you’ve answered the above questions, you can choose from various tablets with the features you need. You can consult some websites like GSMArena.com for the specifications and details. Once you have found a few tablet models you like, you can compare them using some websites. Ask suggestions from your friends who already use it. Also ask them about the disadvantages and advantages of using that phone and whether they recommend it or not.

Finally, you will be able to choose a tablet which suits you! Hope you enjoyed this post.
